Team - Guy Blake

Guy is a Partner specialising in charities and not-for-profit organisations, leading the Audit team and supporting a wide range of charities and social enterprises with their accounting, audit and advisory needs.

Having joined Gravita Godfrey Wilson in 2013 as a trainee, Guy has spent more than a decade building extensive expertise in charity accounting and audit. He holds a Practising Certificate and Responsible Individual status, enabling him to sign audit reports and lead complex assurance engagements.

Guy manages a diverse portfolio of audit and independent examination clients, ranging from charities just above the independent examination threshold to some of the firm’s largest audit assignments.

Alongside his audit work, he takes a hands-on approach to advising clients on a range of matters, including charity VAT, accounting system implementations and financial reporting requirements.

He has particular expertise in arts charities and regularly advises organisations in the sector on creative tax reliefs. His experience also spans grant-making trusts, students’ unions and charities providing care services.

Before joining Gravita Godfrey Wilson, Guy worked in data management and reporting roles, including as a Dashboard Developer for a consultancy firm. He holds a first-class degree in Mathematics from the University of Plymouth.

Outside of work, Guy is a keen runner, cyclist and swimmer, and enjoys competing in events ranging from 10km races to marathons.
